Sunny Hill Day 16

Dr. H checked Elizabeth's left and right hands for the sense of touch, pain and, hot/cold. Everything is fine, so no need to test her shoulder for nerve damage. He also tested her thumb around the pressure point from the last cast and the pain was only present when the skin was stretched so Dr. H came back with the saw and cut  a bit of the cast off to expose the pressure point so we could medicate it.

The team meeting for today was canceled but we talked to Dr. H about being allowed to take Elizabeth home for the weekend and if everything goes well we might be able to bring her home for the long weekend.

During the sense of touch test Elizabeth giggled and later in the day she laughed another first it will be nice to see her smiling again.

At physical therapy they are still working on Elizabeth's ability to balance.

Here she is trying to bowl by kicking a soccer ball, 3 pins left, she got a strike the first time (honest).

Mum came in and spent the day with us, Elizabeth had us go to the Family room as a family to do some reading and tried to conn us into giving her a cup of hot chocolate. We had a good day together and Elizabeth was sad when mum went back home but she is sleeping now.
