Home Day 181

It has been 2 months, so I guess it time for another update.

We had a good holiday season, Elizabeth was up early Christmas morning and enjoyed all the gifts.

We went to see a Pediatrician just before Christmas so that he could meet Elizabeth and she where she was at. He will be another resource to help us with Elizabeth's recovery.

Elizabeth had fun playing in the snow. She made snow angles and connected Flower to the sled and trained her to pull. The first snow fall was only a couple centimeters and to cold to make snow balls, but Elizabeth took her wagon out and scraped up snow over a large area to get enough to fill a bucket. She found that if she added some water to the snow and mixed it up you could make a snow ball, fortunately she didn't let them sit out until they turned to ice. The second snow fall was over 10 centimeters and much wetter, so bad that they cancelled school for one day district wide (all the other districts didn't go to that extreme).

Things are starting to happen again, December was all about the Christmas Concert. Elizabeth participated in both the afternoon and evening shows.

Elizabeth is able to handle school until lunch most days, some times she stays for lunch to play. Thus she is still only half days.

The Hospital home bound program has ended now that Elizabeth has a TA (Teachers Assistant) at school. Mrs. L used to come Tuesday and Thursdays.

Last week they setup an ELP (Educational Learning Plan) for Elizabeth to set goals for and help the TA understand Elizabeth's needs.

The school district also did a physical assessment this week.

Elizabeth has been cleared to ride her bike again, but just close to home and no steep hills. Before she could ride her bike mum had to get her bike down and put air in the tires. Elizabeth checked to see if the seat was still at the right height, first she sat and checked that her feet touched, she did a short roll and then took off with a big grin on her face. The new helmet from Christmas is being put to good use. The helmet has more coverage and fits tighter.

That is all for now. Hope to have another post sooner than later.
